How to Send PDFs To a Kindle Reader

Invicti Web Application Security Scanner – the only solution that delivers automatic verification of vulnerabilities with Proof-Based Scanning™.

The primary idea behind the development of the Kindle is that it should have the best way to read digital books and give people access to digital books.

Amazon Kindle is still one of our favorite devices for reading books on a screen. Tablets, phones, personal computers, and TVs have all been redesigned significantly. Still, the Kindle’s technology and functions have remained mostly the same while keeping up with how fast technology changes.

This article will show you how to move a PDF to a Kindle.

How has Amazon Kindle changed the reading experience?

When Amazon first came out with the Kindle, it had one main goal: to give people access to books. Kindle was never meant to compete with tablets, and by sticking to this idea, Amazon has helped Kindle grow into the present day and do a great job in the role it was made for.

When it first came out, Kindle changed the way people read a big way because of its small size and high-resolution electronic paper screen.

They did this by giving the device a built-in dictionary, the ability to search, and wireless connectivity. This made it easy to access thousands of titles without syncing the device to a computer, which only Kindle can do.

With Amazon’s brand-new Kindle apps for mobile devices running the iOS and Android operating systems, customers can now read whenever and wherever they want. These apps turn a phone or tablet into a book, making it more accessible than ever.

The software is made for people who like to read and makes it easy to use the Kindle’s best features. For example, users can quickly move between the pages of a book, a digital library, and a personalized bookshop, among other features.

The Goodreads community is now part of the Kindle app for iOS devices, which makes it easier for readers to find new books they like and talk with their friends about them.

Natively you cannot use external PDF or EPUB format on a Kindle device which is a master strategy by Amazon to boost their store’s revenue as most of the readers buy the book from their store.

But now you can easily send any EPUB and PDF to your Amazon Kindle using multiple ways. You can easily share your desired file using the “Send to Kindle” feature, or else you can also use the other method, which supposedly uses a USB connection, and your file should be stored on your laptop. Both ways are discussed in the ensuing paragraphs.

Step-by-Step Process of Sending PDF Files to a Kindle

You can send PDF files to your Kindle almost anywhere; you end up reading on your Kindle. You can read or look at all of these things on the Kindle. You can also include picture files, but they must be saved in PDF format.

Using Email

You need your unique Kindle email address, where you’ll send the file, and you need to ensure that Amazon has verified the personal email address from which you’ll send the file. This is the first thing that needs to be done.

  • On your laptop or desktop:
  1. Go to Amazon’s website, click on the “Manage Your Content and Devices” page, and click on the “Preferences” tab.
  2. Scroll down until you see ‘Personal Document Settings,’ then click on it.
  3. Keep going down the page until you get to the “Send-to-Kindle Email Settings” section. That will display your email addresses for any Kindle-enabled devices you own.
  1. Scroll down the same page until you find the “Approved Personal Document E-mail List” section. This will show you a list of all the email addresses on your device that you can use to send messages. A link at the bottom of the list lets you add a new email address if your current one is not on the list.
  1. You can make a new email address if you don’t see your current one.
  • You might also be able to find your Kindle email address in the mobile app for your Kindle device.
  1. Visit the homepage and choose ‘More’ from the menu in the bottom right corner.
  2. From the menu, choose “App Settings”.
  3. You’ll see your Kindle email address under “Send to Kindle Email Address”.
  4. Once they are set up, moving a PDF file to your Kindle or any other device with a Kindle app is straightforward.
  5. Use the email account you have been permitted to use and send an email with the subject line “Convert” along with your PDF file attached.
  1. As the message’s recipient, type the Kindle address of the device you want to send it to. (If you have more than one device that can read Kindle books, you should know that each one will have its unique address.)

It may take a few minutes for the file to show up on your Kindle or any other device with Kindle software, but soon you should have a Kindle version of your PDF file that you can bookmark, make notes on, change the font and size of the text, and so on. Even though most conversions aren’t perfect, you’ll end up with a much easier-to-read text, even if there are some mistakes.

Using a USB connection with a PC

This method is comparatively easy than the above one. You must follow the steps below to add your PDF file to your Kindle using a USB connection.

  1. Set up a USB link between your computer and the Kindle.
  2. Find and select the PDF file you want to upload.
  3. Open Kindle.
  4. Go to the “Documents.”
  5. Make copies of all of your PDFs and put them in that folder.
  6. Take your Kindle away from your computer in a safe way.

So, you are now aware of the process of reading any PDF files on your Kindle, but you should know the feature and specifications of the latest Kindle available in the market.

We found two new Kindle devices worth checking out right now if you can’t stay away from reading books in digital format.

#1. All-new Kindle (2022 Release)

The new Kindle is better than the old one in three ways. The display is the first of these. The other two changes are to the hardware on the inside. It finally has many features that have been wanted for a long time, and it costs $99 for all of them.

The new high-resolution screen with 300 PPI is the most important change. It removes the blurry letters that were a problem with the first Kindle. The Paperwhite can be bought for a starting price of £129.99. One of the best things about this electronic reader is its clear and crisp display.

But now, even the cheapest Kindle will have the same level of quality, which is almost three times higher than the Kindle 2019 model (which has a 167 PPI display).

The entry-level Amazon Kindle 2022, like all other Kindle e-readers sold by Amazon, comes with the company’s software already installed. This software makes it easy and quick to get to your library and the Kindle Store. After all, these are the main parts of the device you will use.

Amazon has changed the connector from a micro-USB plug to a USB-C pin, making charging faster. It has a redesigned screen with a resolution of 300 PPI and 16GB more storage space.

#2. Kindle Paperwhite Signature Edition

The Kindle Paperwhite Signature Edition and the regular Kindle Paperwhite can’t be told apart by looking. The chassis is made of plastic, and the back has a rubberized surface to make it easier to hold.

The Amazon logo on the back of the 2021 models has been replaced with a single large, curved arrow, a minimal change that makes it easy to tell the new models from the old ones.

The new Kindle weighs 204 grams, which is still pretty light even though the battery is slightly bigger and has a capacity of 1,700 mAh.

This model’s 6.8-inch screen is much more noticeable than any previous version of the Paperwhite. This is because the top and sides of the screen have smaller borders. It has the same 300 PPI pixel density as its predecessors and still has a matte glass frame.

The new Kindle Paperwhite (11th Gen) has the same IPX8 certification as its predecessor. It also has a larger screen with an adjustable warm front light, a USB Type-C connector, and a slightly bigger battery than the device it replaces. But it only works with Wi-Fi networks.

The Kindle Paperwhite Signature Edition is a better version of the regular Kindle Paperwhite. It has more storage space and several other valuable features.

Bottom Line

Most Kindle devices can read PDF files, so you usually don’t need to convert PDF files to other types of Kindle files before putting them on a Kindle.

A PDF file can only be viewed in PDF format, so that’s the only way to zoom in or out. To change the typeface, you must change the file from PDF to one of the other Kindle formats.
