Tactiq Review Methodology
Geekflare tested Tactiq, an AI-powered meeting transcript tool for Google Meet, Zoom, and Microsoft Teams. We evaluated its real-time transcription accuracy, speaker identification, and AI workflows. Our hands-on experience included testing features like automated note-taking, keyword highlights, and export options. Combining user feedback and practical usability, we provide an unbiased review of Tactiq as a productivity-enhancing tool for meeting documentation and collaboration.
How Does Tactiq Work?
Tactiq is an AI-powered transcribing tool that lets you focus on the meeting by automatically transcribing the speakers. Under the hood, Tactiq offers multi-lingual support (60+ languages) and uses OpenAI to provide insightful summaries and actions. Its SOC-2 Type II compliance ensures data privacy.
The platform depends on its browser extension to transcribe meetings. It integrates with popular meeting apps, including Zoom, Google Meet, and Microsoft Teams, helping you summarize your meetings. Furthermore, you can integrate it with Slack, Jira, and other communication and management tools to easily share meeting notes and transcripts.

Under the hood, Tactiq works like this:
- Connects to communication platforms such as Zoom, Google Meet, and Microsoft Teams.
- Provides real-time transcription along with speaker identification.
- Saves key moments and highlights them.
- Offers AI-powered summaries from the Tactiq web app.
- Offers easy integration with other tools, such as Slack, Jira, etc., for creating a seamless workflow
- Allows you to export and share meeting transcriptions via link (PDF/TXT format) with others.
As for users, Tactiq work requires you to:
- Sign up for a free or paid account.
- Install its Chrome extension.
That’s it. Tactiq will automatically pop up during a meeting. You can start transcribing the meeting and notify the participants that Tactiq is active.
3 Main Tactiq Products
Tactiq offers three main products. These include:
- Meetings Transcription → Transcribe meetings in real-time, keeping the focus on the meeting agenda and not on note-taking
- Meetings Summarizer → Get meeting summaries with one click and use AI to ask specific questions.
- AI Workflows → Use AI to create workflows for maximum efficiency.
Let’s explore these in detail. 👇
1. Meeting Transcription
At Tactiq’s core is its Meeting Transcription solution.
Users need to set up Tactiq once and then let it automatically transcribe everything in the meeting.
When activated, it shows real-time transcriptions during meetings.
Furthermore, you can select 60+ available languages and add screenshots to transcripts.
Here are some of its key features:
Identify Speakers
Tactiq is smart enough to identify speakers. I like that it provides the transcription with the participants’ names, ensuring that you’re aware of everyone’s inputs.

Once it starts transcribing, it’ll record against only the speaker, ensuring accuracy.
This helps its AI contextually understand meetings and provide the speaker’s tasks, priorities, and goals.
For example, I asked its AI to understand and focus on Chandan Kumar (Geekflare’s Founder) for a meeting that happened a week ago (as of this writing).

As I was one of the meeting participants, I can confirm that AI has correctly identified the meeting goals!
It’s impressive since team members (especially absent team members) can understand the meeting goal without going through the transcript.
Real-time Transcription
During meetings, it’s easy to get distracted, especially when note-taking. To help, Tactiq gives you a real-time transcription in the side window. However, it is only available for the person recording the meeting. Additionally, it helps reference previous remarks during the conversation.
Anyone who shares the meeting can create comments on the meeting transcription later on via the Tactiq web app.
For example, I added comments on the meeting recorded by Geekflare’s Editor, as shown in the image below.

60+ Languages Support
Tactiq offers 60+ language support, including English, Russian, Spanish, and many more. The actual numbers vary for different platforms, such as:
- Google Meet: supports over 60 languages.
- MS Teams: supports over 40 languages.
- Zoom: supports over 30 languages.
However, Tactiq doesn’t support multiple languages in a single meeting. That’s why you must select your preferred language before starting the meeting.
I asked its AI to translate meeting notes into another language, but it failed. I hope Tactiq implements the feature, as it can help international teams work together more closely.
Live Tag and Labels
I found its Labels and Tag features useful!
Labels, for example, help categorize meeting transcription.
By default, Tactiq offers four Labels:
- 1:1 → One-on-one meetings
- Long meeting → Meetings longer than 1 hour
- Recurring meeting → Recurring meeting
- Conference → Meeting with 10 or more participants
Each provides an easy way to categorize meetings. The best part is that you can create custom labels.
To create a custom label, go to your Accounts & Settings and then choose “Settings”. From there, click on “Create label”.

Now, fill out the pop-up form to create a new Label. It utilizes filters to meet the pre-defined condition (optional).
For example, I created a Label, “All members present”, where the filter checks if the number of participants equals a particular number.

It supports multiple filters. However, these filters are optional; you can manually add the Labels to recorded meetings. When filter conditions are met, Tactiq applies them automatically.
Tags, on the other hand, help identify essential messages such as:
- Decision (tomorrow, tonight, let’s stick to it)
- Action item (issue, Jira, Github)
- Question (how much time)
- Callout (deadline, let’s summarize, take note)
I find these Tags useful for long meetings as tags auto-highlight these keywords in the transcription.
Like Labels, you can create custom Tags. All you need to do is go to Accounts & Settings > Tags > Add.

Other Meeting Transcription Features Worth Mentioning
Apart from the above Meeting Transcription features, I find the following impactful:
- Exports meeting transcripts in PDF and TXT format.
- Take screenshots to add visuals to the transcript for better referencing.
- Fast search to quickly jump to any meeting section.
Additionally, I found its Speaker Stats section interesting as it gives insight into the most active participants.

As for the quick search, it works well and shows the searched keyphrase accurately. Ironically, however, it’s a tad sluggish.

You can go through the search keyword instances by pressing Enter again in the search bar or using the available arrow keys (up and down).
2. Meetings Summarizer
Meetings Summarizer helps you get insights and information from your meeting transcriptions.
The Tactiq Summarizer relies on AI to do the heavy lifting. For example, you can ask it to generate meeting summaries.
Let’s discuss Tactiq Meetings Summarizer’s key features below.
One-Click AI Summaries
Tactiq lets you create one-click summaries for your meetings. These are available directly from the Quick Prompts section. You can choose between:
- Short Summary
- Detailed Summary
- Detailed Summary with citation
- Summary and Action Items

Custom AI Prompts and Kits
Tactiq offers the option to create custom AI prompts and Kits.
You can ask Tactiq AI any question for a detailed and insightful answer.
However, when you do ask questions, it utilizes AI credits. These AI credits are limited to the Free plan (5 AI credits/month) and Pro (10 AI credits/month)—which, in my opinion, are on the lower side, especially on the paid plan.
Tactiq also offers AI Kits, which are collections of pre-defined AI prompts. You get the following AI Kits:
- General
- Action Items
- Emails
- Funny prompts
- HR
- Project &Team Management
- Research
- Sales

Users can create custom kits by going to AI Tools > My Meetings Kit > Create Kit.
Other Tactiq’s AI Meeting Summary Features Worth Mentioning
Apart from the above features, Tactiq’s AI meeting summary offers:
- Instant meeting summaries with highlighted items.
- Actionable insights using AI prompts.
- Quick sharing of transcripts with other team members.
3. AI Workflows
Tactiq’s AI Workflow saves time by helping you automate many aspects of the meetings workflow, such as extracting insights and sharing them with your team or internal systems like Jira or Slack.
Some of the use cases of Tactiq’s AI Workflow include:
- Updating CRMs
- Creating tickets
- Syncing knowledge base
- Sharing meeting insights
To help you create Workflows, Tactiq offers pre-made Workflow templates such
- Sharing meetings to Slack channel
- Creating a page with a summary on Notion DB.
And many more. Currently, they only offer 13 pre-made AI Workflows, which I think are on the lower side, especially for bigger teams with more complex requirements.

To access them, you’ll need to click on “Discover Workflow” on the Meeting page or go to My Workflows > Explore templates on the side menu.

To test the feature, I utilized the “Write a summary, review it, and send it to Slack” template. It offered multiple options like:
- Option to send meeting summary automatically and manually
- Selecting an AI prompt like Short Summary, along with the Meeting language output
- Ability to decline or accept the summary before sending.

After filling out and modifying the workflow, you can save or simply run the query to test it (options are available on the top-right).

Once you accept the output, it’ll send it to your preferred Slack channel.

Benefits of Using Tactiq

Here are the main benefits of using Tactiq:
- Effortlessly transcribe meetings in real-time
- Easily identify the speaker with their message and timestamp
- Ability to create AI workflows to automatically share meeting transcriptions & summaries, create tickets, and much more
- Create to-do or follow-up emails and lists
- Get actionable insights from the meeting
Tactiq Integrations
Tactiq offers a good selection of integrations that support the likes of Google Docs, Notion, Slack, Calendar, and HubSpot.
It supports all the major communication solutions such as Google Meet, Zoom, and MS Teams.
At the time of writing, they support 20 integration options. Teams can use them to enhance productivity by removing manual steps like sharing meeting transcription.

Under the hood, Tactiq is deeply integrated with OpenAI as it uses it to power many of its key features, including the ability to record and transcribe meetings.
As for browser integration, Tactiq offers a Chrome add-on, which also works for Edge or other Chromium-based browsers.

Tactiq Pricing
Tactiq offers three tiers—one free and two paid, starting from $8/user/month.
I found Tactiq’s pricing to be ideal for small businesses. Its Pro plan is a good pick for teams with 10-15 members.
However, I strongly believe that the pricing is on the expensive side for medium to large teams as more members need to buy the subscription.
Its free plan is good for trying the service. It can be enough for businesses that have 1-2 meetings weekly, ensuring that it doesn’t cross its 10 meetings/month.
However, the free version’s 5 AI credits/month is on the lower side. What’s more surprising is that its Pro plan only offers 10 AI credits/month, making it impractical for teams that automate many workflows.
Those teams will not find the Pro plan to fit their requirement and may have to choose the Team plan, which is 2x the price of the Pro plan.
Plan/Criteria | Monthly Pricing/User | AI generated Insights/AI Workflows | Unlimited Transcripts | Priority Support | Auto-share Transcript with Teams |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
Free | $0 | ✅ | ❌ (Limited to 10) | ❌ | ❌ |
Pro | $8 | ✅ | ✅ | ❌ | ❌ |
Team | $16.70 | ✅ | ✅ | ✅ | ✅ |
Note: All prices shown above are valid when billed annually.
Tactiq also offers Enterprise plans, which are ideal for 100+ users. It provides everything available in the Team plan, plus:
- Managed data retention
- Dedicated spaces
- Dedicated account manager
- SAML SSO
Support
Tactiq offers support via the Tactiq Help Center, live chat, and email.
On contacting them, I got a message mentioning the response time is 1-5 business days.

Tactiq only offers priority customer support to Team and Enterprise plans, so the response time for other plans is slow.
So, if you’re using a Free or Pro plan, you’ll have to wait for their response.
Tactiq Ratings and Recognitions
Tactiq online ratings and recognitions are strong, as stated below:
It’s a fairly new solution, and that can explain its low number of reviews. However, its Chrome add-on is rated 4.8 out of 5 with 2.2K reviews.
How Tactiq Handles Compliance and Security
The use of OpenAI in Tactiq can cause many businesses to question its compliance and security.
In my research, I found Tactiq to offer strong security despite using OpenAI’s Enterprise APIs, which differ from ChatGPT. All the data transmitted is protected via TLS (Transport Layer Security).
Tactiq doesn’t store your data, and hence, none of the business data is used to train LLMs.
Businesses who are still concerned about AI can disable LLM AI features from its Settings page.
As for compliance, Tactiq is SOC II compliant, ensuring robust protection of your sensitive data from unauthorized access.
For more information, I strongly suggest checking out Tactiq’s Trust Center, which lists policies, penetration tests, internal security procedures, and other security aspects.
Additionally, Tactiq suggests contacting them via email for any security questions.

Who Should Use Tactiq?
I strongly suggest Tactiq to the following people.
- Remote teams who want efficient meeting documentation.
- Educators and students looking to record online lectures for studying.
- Consultants who want to record meetings in detail.
- Solopreneurs that want to save valuable time to focus on other complex tasks.
Who Shouldn’t Use Tactiq?
Even though Tactiq is an excellent transcription tool, it isn’t for everyone. I don’t recommend Tactiq in the following scenarios:
- Individuals with no requirement to record meetings.
- Enterprises with tight or custom compliance that don’t want the meeting data to be processed by AI.

Below are the expert opinions of Geekflare’s team members on using Tactiq:
Geekflare Expert’s Review on Tactiq

Joy R Bharme
I feel Tactiq is a good free tool (I have not opted for the paid version), which allows you 5 credits per month on the free version (plus a convenient Chrome extension)… you can choose to AI summarize the minutes of the meeting and action items, too. The only con is that, at times, it doesn’t transcribe accurately and might write down something downright funny.
Geekflare Expert’s Review on Tactiq

Rashmi Sharma
I found the Tactiq free version adequate for our needs. However, its 10 meetings per month can limit many businesses. I find its pricing a little costlier for larger teams, as multiple individuals must get the subscription to transcribe meetings. For smaller teams, the pricing seems just right. I also feel its recognition systems need work and are not 100% accurate, which can make sentences funny to read. However, I like that it offers a good number of integrations and instantly provides meeting transcriptions.
Tactiq Verdict
Tactiq is a great AI-powered meeting transcription tool. It utilizes AI intelligently to ensure productivity and efficiency. I liked its AI Workflow feature, which improves the team’s productivity by automatically sharing transcriptions, summaries, and action plans.
Along with this, I found its Tags and Labels highly useful. These improve meeting management and give context to identify key aspects of the meeting. Moreover, the tool itself is remarkably easy to use, even for complete beginners, requiring just a sign-up and Chrome extension activation.
Regarding pricing plans, Tactiq’s free plan is good enough to test out for smaller teams, even though the credits are limited.
However, Tactiq’s paid plan pricing and features availability are a mismatch. Their Pro plan only offers 10 AI credits, pushing teams depending on AI workflows to buy their Team plan, which costs double that of the lower-tier Pro plan.
I also found its Web UI sluggish, especially when searching for specific phrases or keywords throughout the meeting transcription.
Plus, while using the tool, it was clear that Tactiq’s voice recognition and language processing were not 100% accurate, making sentences funny or sometimes meaningless. This can be attributed to accent differences, and native speakers may find the issue less often than non-native speakers.
Overall, Tactiq receives the Geekflare Editor’s Choice Award. Its ability to provide real-time transcription with proper speaker identification is fantastic, despite some accuracy issues. Moreover, it allows plenty of workflow customization to reduce manual efforts. These features, along with a free plan, invite users to try out Tactiq’s offerings!
