New Microsoft AI Tools Automate Sales Tasks—What You Need to Know

Microsoft

Microsoft has launched its new AI tools, which are specially designed for sales teams. The tech giant unveiled its two AI-powered assistants, Sales Agent and Sales Chat, during the AI Tour in London. It claims to automate key sales processes, allowing sales professionals to focus on high-value tasks. So, let’s take a closer look at Microsoft’s latest AI offerings for sales professionals.

Sales Agent and Sales Chat: How They Work

The Sales Agent is primarily focused on managing lead research, meeting scheduling, and customer outreach. It claims to make sure that all the sales representatives can focus on closing major deals while all potential leads receive attention.

On the other hand, the Sales Chat is more focused on aggregating data from CRM systems, pitch decks, meetings, emails, and the web to provide sales teams with actionable insights. It allows sales professionals to concentrate on selling as the tool eliminates the time wasted on gathering and analyzing information.

Note: It’s worth keeping in mind that both AI agents integrate with Microsoft 365 Copilot Chat and support select third-party CRM platforms.

Additional AI Agents for Business Operations

Microsoft is also working on more AI agents for Customer Intent, Customer Knowledge Management, Case Management, Scheduling Operations, and Sales Orders. These tools are said to automate workflows beyond sales, expanding Microsoft’s AI-driven enterprise solutions.

The upcoming AI agents will be available for public preview access. But it will require Copilot Studio capacity packs.

AI Accelerator for Sales Program

Along with the new AI agents, the company has also announced its AI Accelerator for Sales program. It is designed to help businesses transition from regular CRM systems and leverage Microsoft’s AI capabilities. The program includes:

  • Microsoft 365 Copilot, which serves as an AI assistant for sales professionals.
  • Prebuilt AI agents, such as the Sales Research Agent in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Sales, which conducts deep research to support strategic decision-making.
  • Custom AI agents, allowing companies to automate specific sales processes using Microsoft Copilot Studio.
  • Model fine-tuning, where Microsoft AI experts tailor models to individual business needs.
  • Dynamics 365 Sales integration, providing a centralized platform for managing customer relationships.
  • White-glove support, offering direct engagement with Microsoft’s AI specialists.

The AI Accelerator for Sales program will be available to eligible customers starting April 1, 2025.
