Screenful’s New Analytics Engine, Chart Click-Throughs, and More
On the last day of 2024, Screenful added some of the most requested features to its platform. Now, the click-through functionality has been expanded to Number and Bar charts, allowing users to view detailed item lists directly from the charts. Additionally, daily grouping has been added as a new option for chart timeframes.
Moreover, a search box is now available in the charts model, enabling users to find specific charts and report templates efficiently. The highlight of this update is the launch of Analytics 2, a complete overhaul of the analytics backend designed for improved flexibility and scalability in project management data analysis. This new engine promises faster loading times.
PMI Report: High-Performing PMOs Are Critical to Driving Business Transformation
A new report from the Project Management Institute (PMI) titled “Built to Thrive” reveals that high-performing Project Management Offices (PMOs) are crucial for delivering corporate value and enhancing customer satisfaction. The report shows that 80% of these PMOs excel in value delivery, compared to only 43% of low-performing ones. Additionally, projects that measure customer satisfaction are 1.6 times more likely to succeed.
High-performing PMOs also leverage technology effectively, with 80% using advanced tools, compared to just 26% of lower-performing PMOs. Industries like consulting (74%), energy (61%), and IT (56%) have the highest rates of strong PMOs, while retail (38%), automotive (40%), and pharmaceutical (42%) sectors show a need for improvement.
Smartsheet’s 2025 Project and Portfolio Management Priorities Report
Smartsheet has released its new research on the effects of workplace changes on project and portfolio management (PPM) professionals in its Project and Portfolio Management Priorities Report. The report revealed that 92% of PPM professionals struggle to adapt to workplace changes, such as frequent shifts in priorities, gaps in communication and collaboration, and limited access to critical data, to the detriment of business outcomes.
“When disruption occurs, businesses often expect their project teams to adapt and sustain the same pace and level of excellence. As a result, teams are exhausted,” said Miya McClain, VP of Product Management at Smartsheet. “But change also allows organizations to innovate and become more agile. Amid ongoing workplace disruptions, leaders have a choice: maintain the current way of working and face team burnout or adopt new approaches and leverage tools and technology to increase collaboration and communication, democratize data accessibility, and streamline workstreams to improve employee engagement, gain efficiencies and achieve growth.”
Wrike’s New Dashboards, Workspace Themes, and More
Wrike introduced several updates in December 2024, including new dashboards with customizable widgets and data labels, custom fields on calendars, and enhanced workspace themes.
Additionally, Wrike Labs has introduced a table-like display for subitems in item view, and request forms now allow for moving and auto-populating mirror fields. Mobile users can also pin and unpin dashboards and use drag-and-drop functionality in Board View.
Zoho Projects’ Phase Custom Views
Zoho Projects introduced its new phase custom views feature. This feature allows users to organize and display phases that meet specific criteria across projects. It also enables the creation of custom views to share with all users or specific users and sets accessibility to focus on the most relevant phases.
This feature helps create quick reports on phase status, makes custom views accessible across other projects, and exports phases in a custom view to an XLSX, CSV, or PDF file.
