This Salesforce AI Update Will Help with Everyday HR Work

Salesforce Agentforce AI (1)

Salesforce has announced Agentforce for HR Service. It’s a new set of AI-driven tools that claims to simplify HR tasks for employees and ease the workload for HR teams. The company has already launched a bunch of new AI agents into everyday business functions, and this time, it’s targeting HR operations.

What Does the Agentforce for HR Do?

Agentforce is now embedded into Salesforce’s HR Service platform. It includes an Employee Portal and HR Service Console, which allows employees to complete regular HR tasks like submitting time-off requests or updating personal details using natural language directly within Slack or the Employee Portal. The inclusion of Agentforce removes the need to submit tickets or navigate through policy documents.

Employees can use Agentforce in Slack to get HR help, update details, manage time off, and more.

According to the company, Agentforce can pull data from company policies, employee data, and HR systems to provide personalized answers. For example, it can tell an employee if they’re eligible for a corporate card or walk them through setting up a direct deposit, all through a simple chat interface.

Key Features for Employees

  • Personalized responses: Tailored answers based on employee role and company rules.
  • Leave and expense management: Submit time off or expense claims in a conversation.
  • Profile updates: Change address or other personal info using natural language.
  • Case tracking: Ask about HR requests without repeating context.
  • Human handoff: Escalates complex or sensitive issues to an HR rep when needed.

For HR Teams

HR professionals using the HR Service Console can now get AI-generated response drafts, case summaries, and even prebuilt integrations that pull in employee data from HR systems. This helps them resolve cases faster and provide more accurate support.

Will this Replace HR Reps?

No, Salesforce emphasized that Agentforce in HR is not about replacing HR reps but augmenting them. The company’s EVP & GM of Service Cloud, Kishan Chetan, said, “We’re bringing Agentforce skills and actions to HR Service so companies can expedite requests and scale employee support when resources are limited.”

Companies like Indeed are already using Agentforce capabilities to improve hiring workflows. Analysts also see potential for broad adoption.

HR, like every other business unit, is being asked to do more with less. Agentforce with HR Service will allow HR teams to scale support by ensuring HR specialists have all the employee data and case information in one place. Employees will get time back in their day to focus on their day job because their cases are getting resolved more quickly and they can self-serve through an AI-powered employee portal, driving greater productivity within and beyond HR.

What’s available now — and what’s coming next?

Tools like Agentforce Platform, Employee Portal, and HR Service Console are available live. Starting in June 2025, the AI-powered topics and actions for Agentforce in the Employee Portal and Slack will also be rolled out.

Salesforce is doubling down on its Agentic AI capabilities because, recently, the company concluded a survey that revealed that Agentic AI adoption will grow by 327% by 2027. The study included 200 global HR leaders, and the company found that 80% of CHROs believe AI agents and humans will work side by side within the next five years. Current adoption of agentic AI stands at 15%, but HR leaders expect it to reach 64% by 2027.
