Guidde Review Methodology
Geekflare tested Guidde by evaluating its AI-powered video documentation, automation, and collaboration tools. We assessed ease of use, AI-driven features, AI voiceover capabilities, workflow automation, and integrations, combining hands-on testing with user feedback for an unbiased review of its impact on knowledge sharing and productivity.
I have written a lot of how-to tutorials. While they are indeed helpful for the end consumers, creating them becomes a bit monotonous if you have dozens such guides lined up for the week.
That was until I got my hands on Guidde. Here, you just need to briefly describe the tutorial before recording. It highlights your clicks, auto-annotates, inputs voiceovers, and more on its own. It also comes with a video editor, allowing you to tweak everything to fit your style and add more steps if needed.
At the end, you get a (shareable, embeddable, and downloadable) video, something that 98% of people watch to know more about a product.
Additionally, you get step-by-step text descriptions supported with screengrabs similar to what you might have seen in how-to blog posts. Besides explainers, Guidde can prove helpful with employee training, customer onboarding, features announcements, etc.
In further sections of this Guidde review, I’ll discuss how to deploy Guidde, its features, integrations, and more.
What can you do with Guidde?
There are two things you can do with Guidde: creating video documentation and in-app support, as discussed below.
Create Video Documentation
This is the flagship Guidde use case. It has a Chrome extension and desktop application that lets you record the screen or a specific part with a click. At the end, you get AI-generated text description and video tutorial for sharing.
Guidde also features a video editor to fix the rough edges and enrich the explainer with additional steps. You can also add background music, AI/human voice-overs, transitions, and more, to make it worth a watch and share.
In-app Video Guides
Guidde’s in-app broadcasts are self-triggering short form videos you can deploy to help customers/employees navigate complex software. The triggers are based on user actions and context to offer immediate step guides to increase adoption rates.
The bite-sized tutorials allow customization to match the application aesthetics. It also comes with an “Analytics Dashboard” where admins can track engagement and the impact on support tickets.
In-app video guides function with an SDK integration, and you have to contact Guidde for know-how on implementation.
What I Like About Guidde?
A slick user interface, AI-generated voiceovers, effortless editing… there’s so much which just works with Guidde. Here, I’ve mentioned why I will recommend Guidde to anyone who wants to simplify their documentation process.
Smart Screen Capture
It starts with screen recording after you describe the intent and select the category. Afterward, it intelligently tracks the clicks with context and puts that into text descriptions, in addition to annotating the specific elements. This greatly improves the overall user experience.

Video Editing
Guidde seems to know that no AI is perfect. Consequently, you might need to get your hands dirty to iron out those inconsistencies. Luckily, you don’t need third-party software as the native video editor gets it done.

The above screengrab depicts a few features of Guidde video editor, which includes elements, effects, annotations, transition effects, and more. It also supports editing captions, inserting custom images, changing backgrounds, and managing brand kits.
Voiceovers
What truly brings Guidde videos to life are its voice-overs. Thankfully, you aren’t just limited to AI and can take the reins into your hands.
Its voiceover tab in the video editor (check 👇 image) provides access to over 40+ languages and dozens of speakers.

You can adjust the text and the delivery speed before it generates voiceover audio. And no issues if AI isn’t cutting it. Simply switch to “Record” and you can do it yourself or upload audio for specific steps.
Note: There is one limitation though. You can’t record more than 60 seconds per step.
Background Music
Guidde has provided a small set (14, as of this writing) of background tracks you can add to the explainers. You can hover over a specific tile to hear the preview audio before applying it to the video. This also allows adjusting music volume to avoid overwhelming the voice-overs.

While the background music is a nice addition, I still feel Guidde should make more tracks available for the creatives and allow uploading custom audio.
Downloadable/Shareable Videos
Another major upside is that you can download Guidde videos. It’s particularly beneficial for someone looking to edit videos further with third-party video editors, such as Adobe Premiere Pro.
Besides, this is great for a brand to publish videos on YouTube or within their web knowledge base.
But Guidde doesn’t stop here. You also have one-click HTML-embed exports compatible with popular content hosting platforms, such as WordPress, Notion, Zendesk, Confluence, Salesforce, GitBook, and HubSpot.
Imports
You can import images, videos, PPTs, PDFs, and even other Guidde files into your tutorial. In particular, Guidde lets you import specific pages/slides from your PDFs and PPTs, which can prove very useful when creating training documents or presentations.

Guidde Integrations
You can connect Guidde to popular business and productivity apps, such as ClickUp, SharePoint, GitLab, Bitbucket, Webflow, Confluence, WordPress, Salesforce, Github, Microsoft OneDrive, Zoom, Slack, and more.
Though Guidde has a good number of pre-built integrations, it currently does not have an API. This limits businesses to available connectors without any flexibility to build their own.
How much does Guidde cost?
Guidde is free for up to 25 how-to videos. You can easily get started with its Chrome extension. The major free-tier limitation, I would say, is the lack of desktop apps and downloads. Plus, you won’t have a brand kit.
Paid plans get you much more, which you can test with a 14-day trial of Guidde’s Business plan. Check out the table below for Guidde’s subscriptions along with their features.
Subscription | Features |
---|---|
Free | Up to 25 how-to videos, voiceovers, shareable link, transitions, background tracks, & web app |
Pro ($16/creator/month) | + Unlimited videos, brand kit, exports, & information blur |
Business ($35/creator/month) | + Unlimited text to voice, web + desktop app, advanced privacy, & analytics |
Enterprise (Custom) | + Unlimited screen recordings, all AI voices, auto translations, SSO, user roles, & workspaces |
Note: Every Guidde subscription includes all the features of its lower-tier plans, as denoted by the “+” prefix. For example, the Business plan would have all the features of the Pro plan, plus its own set of features.
Guidde Alternatives
Guidde isn’t alone in this AI documentation space. It competes against the likes of Scribe, Loom, Tango, and WalkMe.
I’ve created a table below that compares Guidde with these competitors based on features like video documentation, custom branding, automated transcription, and more.
Guidde Verdict: Is Guidde right for you?
Guidde can serve you well if you’re primarily into product explainers and employee training. It converts workflows into videos and text explainers, which works for simple how-tos.
A more intricate use case is its in-app assistance. This should transform how non-tech-savvy users experience complex applications. Guidde can provide immediate assistance within the user interface, increasing adoption rates.
However, you’re better off without it for text-heavy explainers, such as software documentation. Likewise, this generative AI-based tool isn’t suitable for anything that includes JavaScript, as you will be left with a lot of corrections, negating any potential benefits of using Guidde.
Overall, Guidde receives the Geekflare Innovation Award for its easy-to-use video documentation features. Its AI-powered assistance in creating personalized videos for your brand’s knowledge base is novel, simplifies your documentation workflows, and significantly improves the end-user experience.
