5 New Copilot Features That Make Work Easier

Microsoft is rolling out a bunch of new features and updates to Copilot. The new features aim to help across various tasks like writing, research, and voice interaction. The tech giant has unveiled its new Deep Research and has also increased the file upload limit size. So, let’s take a closer look at all the new features and updates that Copilot has received:
1. Copilot Pages Now Live for All Users Globally
One of the biggest updates is that the Copilot pages are now live for all signed-in users worldwide on desktop and mobile apps. This feature allows users to shape unstructured thoughts into organized content, whether they’re drafting an idea, compiling research, or refining documents.
2. Deep Research Mode for In-Depth Web Summaries
While Microsoft is a little late to the party, the Deep Research feature has finally arrived on the Copilot. It uses advanced AI models to dig deep into web content, analyze it, and return comprehensive insights, just like how we use the Research feature on most of the AI tools, whether it’s the ChatGPT, Claude, or Gemini. However, it’s important to keep in mind that the feature is currently available for Copilot Pro users and only supports English. The company will launch more language support soon.
3. Two New Hispanic Voices: Alder and Elm
Voice interactions in Copilot are getting more variety with the addition of Alder and Elm, two new Hispanic voices. These voices aim to make Copilot’s spoken responses more relatable and engaging. It also allows users to switch between different voices by going to the Voice settings in the app’s profile menu.
4. Integration with Motorola’s Latest Phones
Microsoft and Motorola have partnered to provide a dedicated Copilot experience to Motorola Razr and Edge device users. Through the Moto AI assistant, users can activate Copilot by saying or typing, “Ask Copilot…” followed by their query. The integration is already rolling out to all Motorola devices globally.
5. Increased File Upload Limit — Now Up to 50MB
The file upload limit has always been a concern for many power users of Copilot, as it was limited to 5MP. But now, the company has increased that cap to 50MB, which is a big jump and will be sufficient for the majority of the users. It will allow users to upload larger PDFs and PowerPoint decks without splitting or compressing them.
That’s a wrap from release note updates. However, the company is not slowing down on expanding the capabilities of Copilot into Microsoft 365. For example, recently the Copilot can now create audio summaries of documents, meetings, and files, making it easier to digest information on the go. It also offers improved multilingual support and can analyze on-screen content during Teams meetings.
