DeepMind’s New Mysterious Model Spotted on Arena

Google DeepMind

Google DeepMind seems to be working on a new AI model. A new model under the name “prowlridge” has appeared on the Arena. It was spotted by an X user called Ashutosh Shrivastava. The discovery comes via a tool called Legit, which tracks new entries on benchmarking platforms.

If we go by the listing, prowlridge is currently in beta and is registered as a model developed by Google DeepMind, which is the AI research division known for pushing boundaries in reinforcement learning, reasoning, and more recently, large multimodal models like Gemini.

The model surfaced on Arena, which is a popular platform for testing and comparing AI systems in real time. That’s often where we get early hints of what leading labs are working on before the marketing decks roll out.

So, what is prowlridge? At this point, your guess is as good as ours. The name doesn’t reveal any details. It could be another reasoning-heavy model like Gemini Pro or an entirely new architecture designed for specific tasks.

While there’s no official announcement from DeepMind, its track record indicates that prowlridge might not be just another clone. Since it’s being tested in Arena, it suggests a competitive performance. Or maybe a direct challenger to some of today’s top-tier models.

That’s all for now. But we will be keeping a close eye on this. If prowlridge makes its public debut or shows up in any benchmarks, expect a deep dive soon.
