Google Cloud and Salesforce Partner to Boost Enterprise AI
Google and Salesforce have joined hands to expand their partnership to provide businesses with more flexibility in building AI-powered solutions. It will enable Salesforce customers to use Google’s Gemini AI models within Agentforce, which is Salesforce’s AI agent platform.
Currently, Salesforce customers are locked into a single provider or model. However, the partnership with Google will allow customers to use Google’s Gemini models to build Agentforce agents. Apart from that, Salesforce will be deployable on Google Cloud infrastructure. The latest partnership will build upon an existing relationship that allows for bidirectional data flow between Google BigQuery and Salesforce.
Key Benefits for Customers
The expanded partnership focuses on four main areas:
- Data Access: Businesses can use a zero-copy architecture to integrate data between Google BigQuery and Salesforce Data Cloud, reducing silos and improving insights.
- AI Flexibility: Companies can select from various AI models, including predictive and generative AI, to suit their needs rather than being locked into a single provider.
- Security and Trust: Google Cloud’s infrastructure provides security features like encryption, data residency options, and built-in AI guardrails to ensure responsible AI usage.
- Enhanced Automation: The partnership allows seamless integration of AI-driven workflows across Salesforce and Google Cloud tools.
Real-Time AI and Expanded Capabilities
One of the highlights of this partnership is the integration of Google Search with Agentforce via Vertex AI. This will enable AI agents to access real-time information and improve their ability to deliver accurate and relevant responses. For example, supply chain businesses can use this feature to track shipments and anticipate delays using live data from sources like weather reports and logistics updates.
Moreover, Gemini’s multi-model capabilities will allow Agentforce to process text, images, and even audio inputs. This could be beneficial for various industries, for example, insurance claims processing, where AI can analyze photos and voice messages to assess claims faster.
Availability
- The expected availability for Agentforce with Gemini is this year.
- Availability for Agentforce with real-time data from Google Search is expected in the coming months.
- Salesforce products will be available on Google Cloud infrastructure later this year, with procurement through the Google Cloud Marketplace.
