Imagen 4 Is Now in Gemini API: What’s New

Google has rolled out its next-gen text-to-image model, Imagen 4, to Gemini API and Google AI Studio. It includes both the standard Imagen 4 model and a more advanced version called Imagen 4 Ultra, which is designed to deliver higher alignment with prompts and better visual fidelity.
Imagen 4 is available as a paid preview and promises upgrades over its predecessor, particularly in rendering text within images, something previous models struggled with. The standard version is priced at $0.04 per image, while Imagen 4 Ultra, which focuses on precise prompt-following, costs $0.06 per image. Both are already available with limited free access through Google AI Studio, with plans for broader availability and more pricing options in the coming weeks.

The tech giant also shared some prompts and outputs, covering everything from science fiction comic panels to cinematic fashion scenes, to demonstrate the model’s ability to generate diverse visuals. Each image generated using Imagen 4 includes a digital SynthID watermark for transparency and provenance.
Google Expands Commerce and AI Offerings
Along with the Imagen update, Google is also expanding its Commerce Media suite. Recently, the company released a beta update that brings AI-powered insights and greater campaign control to brands and retailers across Google Ads, Search Ads 360, and Display & Video 360. These tools are designed to provide better performance visibility and planning flexibility, particularly through Max campaigns, which now support Search, Shopping, and Demand Gen formats.
New AI Features Arrive on Chromebooks
Google also unveiled new AI tools for Chromebooks alongside the new Lenovo Chromebook Plus 14. These updates include smart tab grouping, AI-generated wallpapers, and text capture tools aimed at improving user productivity and customization.
