WhatsApp in Your Pocket Now Supports ChatGPT’s ImageGen

OpenAI has rolled out image generation capabilities for ChatGPT on WhatsApp. The company announced the update through its official X (formerly Twitter) handle, confirming that the ImageGen is now live for everyone.
If you want to use the ImageGen feature on WhatsApp, then you will have to send a message to 1-800-ChatGPT on WhatsApp. However, OpenAI recommends linking your ChatGPT account to the service to unlock more image generations.
This move brings one of ChatGPT’s most popular AI features, text-to-image generation, directly into one of the world’s most-used messaging platforms. This can be a big boon for many, as it eliminates the need to open a separate app or browser, turning WhatsApp into a lightweight creative tool for users on the go.
Recent ChatGPT Upgrades
The ImageGen expansion is not the only update from OpenAI. Earlier this month, the AI giant improved the “Projects” feature in ChatGPT’s smart workspace for managing long-term tasks. The updated version supports deeper integrations, mobile enhancements, and expanded tooling to help you organize chats, reference files, and instructions under one roof.
Furthermore, OpenAI has improved ChatGPT’s search experience, which is now more context-aware and accurate in handling complex queries. This revamped search tool is available to all ChatGPT users and is designed to deliver more relevant and timely responses.
Together, these updates show OpenAI’s continued focus on making ChatGPT not just a chatbot but a complete productivity assistant across platforms, including mobile.
