What Is a Password Generator?
A password generator creates random passwords that are harder to guess. It runs entirely in your browser using the Web Crypto API, so generated passwords are not sent to Geekflare servers.
Available Options
| Option | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Length | Controls password length from 8 to 40 characters. |
| Uppercase | Adds A-Z characters. |
| Lowercase | Adds a-z characters. |
| Numbers | Adds 0-9 characters. |
| Symbols | Adds punctuation and special characters. |
How Strength Is Estimated
The strength panel estimates entropy from the selected character pool and password length. This is a useful guide for generated passwords because the characters are selected randomly. For user-created passwords, patterns and reused words matter more, so use the Password Strength Checker when evaluating a password you typed yourself.
Password Tips
- Use a different password for every account.
- Prefer 16 or more characters when the website allows it.
- Store generated passwords in a password manager.
- Avoid sending passwords through chat or email.
- Enable multi-factor authentication for important accounts.
