Salesforce says that its Tableau Next can tackle this by introducing “agentic analytics,” which is a system that allows users to collaborate with AI agents across the entire data workflow. Here’s everything you need to know about Salesforce’s latest offering:
What is Tableau Next?
Tableau Next is an AI-driven “agentic analytics” tool that simplifies and speeds up the entire data-to-action process. It helps users automate repetitive tasks like data cleaning and visualization, uncover hidden trends and patterns, and get easy-to-understand summaries and recommendations. By doing all this within the tools people already use, Tableau Next makes it easier to turn data into action, especially within the Salesforce ecosystem.
It is built on the Salesforce Platform and integrates directly with Data Cloud, giving real-time data access with zero-copy architecture. The semantic layer and AI skills are also tied into Agentforce.
Agentic Tools and AI Skills
Salesforce is also rolling out specific AI agents as part of the Tableau Next package. It includes:
- Data Pro: Assists with data preparation, offering suggestions and automating complex changes, reducing the need for manual ETL work.
- Concierge: A natural language interface that gives quick, reliable answers to data questions with suggested next steps.
- Inspector: Monitors data continuously, identifies trends, and triggers alerts based on business-relevant changes.
Availability
Tableau Next and Tableau Semantics are now generally available with the Tableau+ SKU. However, the Concierge and Data Pro will arrive in June 2025. On the other hand, Inspector and the Internal Marketplace, a hub to share and reuse analytics assets, are set for release later this year.
